Quincy Jones is determined to regain his beloved publication. Vibe, the urban hip-hop and R&B magazine, was founded by Jones in 1993. An announcement was made yesterday confirming the magazine’s end.
"I'm trying to buy my magazine back now," Jones told Ebonyjet.com. "They just messed my magazine all up, but I’m gonna get it back. You better believe it, I’m’ a take it online because print and all that stuff is over."
Jones appears ready to fight for the recently deceased publication although rights of the magazine were purchased by Wick Media Group in 2006. Vibe had hit road bumps in earlier months. Circulation and publication had been cut. Employees of Vibe also suffered a decrease in salary as well as three-day work weeks.
